How Much Difference Do Bed Roller Pressure Settings Make? A Practical Load Test

How we performed the test
To simulate the Bed Roller geometry during normal use, the roller was placed directly on a weighing scale. The top of the scale was positioned at the same height as all four wheels, allowing the frame to remain level.
We then recorded how much load was transferred through the roller at different frame settings. Both the I-Roller and S-Roller were tested. This article focuses on one of the clearest comparisons: a 110 kg test person using the S-Roller on the lower back.
The test was conducted with Movelio Bed Roller. Bed Roller Professional uses the same pressure-adjustment system: the same gravity-based principle, I-Roller and S-Roller, frame geometry, six height levels per side and 36 pressure and angle combinations. The measured load difference therefore applies to both models, even though Bed Roller was the model physically used for the test.

From the lowest to the highest setting, the measured load through the S-Roller increased by approximately 513%.
For the user, this means the highest setting transferred more than six times as much body weight through the roller in this test. It shows how widely the massage intensity can be adjusted—from relatively gentle contact to substantially higher mechanical load.
Why can the difference be so large?
Adjusting the frame does more than move the roller slightly up or down. It changes how the body is supported and how much body weight is transferred through the roller rather than the surrounding support surface.
At a lower setting, more of the body remains supported elsewhere. At a higher setting, substantially more load can be transferred through the roller. This helps explain why a limited change in frame height can produce a large change in the measured load.
I-Roller and S-Roller distribute load differently
Total measured load and local pressure are not the same thing. Two rollers can carry the same total load while feeling very different because the contact area is different.

Why 36 pressure combinations matter

What exactly did we measure?
The weighing scale measured the load transferred through the roller. It did not directly measure pressure inside muscles or other tissue.
In physics, pressure is force divided by area. Actual contact area varies with body shape, position, roller type and load. For that reason, this practical test should not be interpreted as a clinical or medical study.
It demonstrates a mechanical point: changing the Bed Roller setup can substantially change the amount of load transferred through the roller. Results will vary between users and setups.
